This track was made in the 5 days from the 15th to the 20th of February, for now it remains as a single track but I may expand on this idea on the future through a full length album.

Some of the musical ideas that went into it are:

The introduction was made by using a serialist method for the pitches of each of the 3 individual lines, the same goes for the interlude, but in this case the percussion that is introduced also follows a serialist procedure that refers to the duration of each note and to the instrument that plays it, 2 lines were made that way and superimposed.

There’s microtonal tuning between the different elements (but not within them).

The developments (once the themes are introduced ) follow a similar vein to those of minimalist and phase music.

It follows an intentionally lo-fi aesthetic with a limited set of timbres, and finally the beat is in 27/8.

All of this may sound like this is too far out there but it’s actually really accesible because all of the experimentation is grounded in the familiarity and accesibility of a house beat and the sounds of the 808 (although manipulated), plus the melodies are catchy and the percussion and bass make it very visceral. You’ll just have to withstand the introduction and the interlude if you’re not typically into this sort of thing, but the rest is good.

As far as extramusical ideas go, the intention was to capture this state of mind of travelling at night and having this drifting of consciousness as you look out the window, expressed through the idea of the existence of a radio station which transmits strange music that you’ll never find or hear again but that you will remember forever. It’s really specific and abstract and I can’t properly explain it.

The track is very dark and atmospheric, it has this haunting quality that encapsulates the extramusical aspect, I personally think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done, I’m really pleased with the clarity with which I was able to translate these ideas to music.
